Local Tribal Youth Attend High School Day Camp at the Idaho National Laboratory

Idaho Falls- On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, local tribal high school youth from Sho-Ban Jr/Sr high, Blackfoot high, American Falls high, and Highland high schools attended the first annual High School Day Camp provided by the INL Safeguards and Security Department and the INL K-12 Program to showcase the various careers for local students.

The tour was held at the Live Fire Range on the INL property out near Arco, Idaho.

There were 43 students recruited from local tribal and public schools in Blackfoot, Fort Hall, Pocatello, and American Falls.

The purpose of the field trip was to bring students on site to get a hands-on experience of the various careers so they can start seeing themselves in the jobs.
