We had to snowmobile in, but the Bear Valley Rotary Screw Trap (RST) is operational! Rotary screw traps, such as the one used at Bear Valley and in other Salmon River tributaries, are used to monitor the timing of juvenile salmon and steelhead outmigration and estimate population abundances.
