COVID19 UPDATE FOR FORT HALL RESERVATION
On November 26, 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified a new variant, B.1.1.529, as a Variant of Concern (VOC) and named it Omicron. On December 1, 2021, CDC announced that the first confirmed case of the Omicron variant had been detected in the United States.
As of December 9, 2021, 23 states have reported cases of the Omicron variant. Idaho has now confirmed the first COVID-19 Omicron variant in Ada county. The individual had traveled out of state and was fully vaccinated. The person is reported only to be suffering from mild symptoms. Health experts say the variant may be less severe than other variants, but more research is needed.
Health officials are advising the public that it is more important than ever that the public follows the following prevention methods and help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Wear cloth face coverings in public spaces.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Cleaning, disinfecting surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs using a disinfecting solution.
