COVID-19 Update in the Fort Hall

COVID19 UPDATE FOR FORT HALL RESERVATION

Fort Hall– Active COVID cases are down in Fort Hall, although variants are on the rise in our region. We are sad to report that we have one reported death this week due to COVID, which brings our total to 19 that we lost in Fort Hall. The COVID is still alive, spreading and affecting youth, adults, and the elderly. We ask that everyone stay vigilant in keeping their facemasks on, wash their hands, and social distance.

Our numbers for this week as of May 4, 2021, at 4:00PM.

Total Cases To-Date   926

Total Active Cases       7

Total Currently Hospitalized    1

Total Recovered to Date   897

Total Deceased to Date   19

Total Vaccines are given to Date       5,066

MASS SCREENING 

Weekly screenings will still be available until further notice. Here are the results from this week’s screenings:

Monday, May 3 – 70 were screened with 0 positives

Tuesday, May 4 — 83 were screened with 1 positive

Screenings for the month of May will start an hour earlier at 11AM to 7PM and a day was added, every Thursday at the Chiefs Event Center. Check Tribes Facebook page at the end of the week for the data. 

VACCINE UPDATE

To date, the Tribes have given a total of 5,066 vaccines to the Fort Hall community. Of this number, 2,625 are fully vaccinated which provides an estimate of covering 44% of our community population.  Please note, this number includes American Indians, Shoshone-Bannock Tribal members 18 plus and older, and non-tribal employees and residents that work and live in Fort Hall.

Fort Hall will be offering the Pfizer vaccine to Native American students aged 12 to 18 years old later this week.  To schedule, an appointment for a vaccine call I.H.S at (208) 238-5427 or Tribal Health at (208) 238-5435 or HRSA at (208) 478-3987.

This week, the Tribes will have a Facebook LIVE on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 12’noon.
