COVID19 UPDATE FOR FORT HALL RESERVATION

Fort Hall– We are happy to share that we have only 1 active covid case! Numbers are decreasing although vaccine walk-ins are stagnant. Tribal Health facilities are seeing a low number of walk-ins for vaccinations and are urging the Fort Hall community to get vaccinated. Our current vaccination rate is 47% which has remained flat for the last three weeks. The ultimate vaccination goal is 75% for the Fort Hall community.

MASS SCREENING UPDATES

Here are the results from this week’s screenings: 

Monday, June 7- 114 were screened with 0 positives

Tuesday, June 8 – 87 were screened with 0 positives

Members of any federally recognized Tribe are eligible to receive the $10 incentive card that is good for gas or food at any of our Tribal Enterprise locations (TP Gas, Trading Post, Donzia Gift Shop, Sage Hill, Bannock Peak). This incentive is only provided per weekly screening NOT daily. We thank everyone that participates in the weekly screenings to help slow the spread of the virus.

VACCINE UPDATE

To date, the Tribes have given a total of 5,443 vaccines to the Fort Hall community.

Of this number, 2,869 are fully vaccinated which provides an estimate of covering 47% of our community population.  Please note, this number includes Native American, Shoshone-Bannock Tribal members 12 years and older, and non-tribal employees and residents that work and live in Fort Hall.

Fort Hall offers the Pfizer vaccine to Native American students aged 12 to 18 years old.  To schedule, an appointment for a vaccine call I.H.S at (208) 238-5427 or Tribal Health at (208) 238-5435.  An announcement on allowing the Moderna vaccine to ages 12-17 years old should be announced as early as next month in mid-June 2021.

OUTREACH

The Tribes will have a Facebook LIVE this Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 12’noon on the Tribes Facebook page. 

The next Food Distribution is Thursday, June 17th at 3PM-6PM at the Fort Hall Old Casino parking lot. 1st come; 1st served. Sponsored by the Idaho Food Bank, Tribes 477 department, THHS Diabetes Project, Tribal Office of Emergency Management and Planning & Housing Opportunities Program.
