FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes are seeking 90 worksites to participate in the 2026 Summer Opportunities Program (SOP), a youth employment initiative designed to provide hands-on work experience while supporting the development of the future tribal workforce.
The Summer Opportunities Program connects local youth with summer placements across tribal departments, programs, and local businesses. Participants gain valuable job experience, develop workplace skills, and receive mentorship from professional staff. In return, worksites receive additional support while helping prepare the next generation of workers.
The program will run from July 7 through August 6, 2026. Supervisor training is required prior to program start, and early registration is strongly encouraged as placement opportunities are limited and expected to fill quickly.
All tribal departments, programs, and local businesses are encouraged to participate in this community-wide effort to invest in youth and strengthen the local workforce.
