FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes’ Energy Resources Program invites community members to attend the Solar Build Day celebration and dedication on May 29 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the Tribal Business Center parking lot.

Solar Build Day brought together Tribal departments and partners for a hands-on solar trailer build focused on renewable energy education, technical training, and workforce development. Participants gained direct experience in solar energy installation, system operation, and troubleshooting while supporting the development of local knowledge in clean energy technologies.

“The reason we decided to do this project is to build capacity within our community by giving people a hands-on opportunity to see how these systems work, understand their benefits, and begin imagining how alternative energy can support our homes and our future,” said Alana Edmo, Energy Resources Program Manager.

This project was made possible through a partnership between the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Tribal Department of Energy, Fish & Wildlife Department, Navajo Power, Navajo Power Home, and Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy. The collaboration supports the growth of technical expertise, renewable energy education, and workforce pathways for Tribal members and staff.

The afternoon celebration offers community members an opportunity to view the solar trailer project, visit with project partners, enjoy tacos and music, and learn more about workforce development opportunities connected to sustainable energy and infrastructure within the Fort Hall community.
