Power Outage Update:

Idaho power is working hard on getting the power back on. Please shelter in place due to the road conditions. Any non medical emergencies call 208-237-0137.

This alert is from Idaho Power Weather: Idaho Power crews are working to repair numerous weather- related outages in your area. If your power is out, please know Idaho Power is working hard to safely restore your service. With more weather on the way, Idaho Power will bring in additional crews. Idaho Power 8pm Update: Crews have restored power to nearly 25.000 customer over the past 24 hours and are still working on over 500 active outages impacting nearly 5,000 customers. Idaho Power has additional crews working through the night, but if your power is currently out, please make a plan to stay safe should it remain out overnight. And if you see a downed power line, stay at least 100 feet back and call 911. Thank you for your patience and for staying safe while Idaho Power works to restore service to our communities.

Additional Update to Idaho Power on 3/3/2024 at 12:39PM:

Idaho Power is actively engaged in restoring power to areas affected by recent disruptions. As

of the latest update:

  • Power has been restored to the Ross Fork area, ensuring residents can resume their
  • daily activities without interruption.
  • Parts of Gibson and Bannock Creek are still experiencing power outages.

Idaho Power teams are working diligently to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no estimated time for the restoration of power in these areas.

Stay off the Roads:

We advise that everyone please stay home and off the roads unless for emergency situations. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect until 5PM today.

Shelter Locations:

3/2/2024

Bingham County Emergency Management, The American Red Cross, and Blackfoot School District #55 have come together to accommodate families who are in need of shelter due to the power outage. They will be opening the Mountain View Middle School located at 645 Mitchell Road in Blackfoot at approximately 10pm. They will have bedding, basic provisions, and basic toiletries. There will also be intermittent law enforcement presence throughout the evening. 

The Emergency Operation Center will deactivate at 9:00pm on 3/2/2024. For any emergencies contact Dispatch at 208-478-4000.

The purpose of the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) is too assist the Incident Commander in providing logistical support, technical support, and coordination during an emergency.

American Falls Shelter Addition:
